I Hate The Reasons Non-Discrimination Laws Are Necessary

In politics, they are the bane of the Republicans and the boon of the Democrats.

In the rest of life, they allow underprivileged groups to be able to get by in life with closer to normal standards.

This is where my hate for non discrimination laws come in.

It allows an underprivileged groups to be able to get by in a life with closer to normal standards.

Read that sentence one more time.

It is so fucked that we absolutely have to have specialized laws for certain groups of people just so they have a chance to live a normal, every day life.

Non-discrimination laws are a sum up of everything wrong with our country. The fact of their necessity is a stain on the face of the whole country. The ideas that drive the necessities of these laws isn’t something to celebrate.

I hope that we can work our way to the point that non-discrimination laws are nothing more than part of a disturbing past in a museum somewhere.

I believe that they are absolutely a necessity. I am so, so glad that they exist, but hell if it doesn’t “get my panties in a bunch” because of their required existence. It’s fucked, it’s stupid, it’s miserable…

… and it is tear jerkingly, heart wrenchingly sad.
